Mallory Park, April 2013

Rounds 1 and 2 were held at a very cold Mallory Park and a first visit to this venue for SEWC.  With our second car almost ready, we took just the one car to Mallory and had high hopes of a good finish. A full entry saw the 3 race format with all drivers competing in 2 races and spectating for the 3rd one.

The winter had seen plenty of preparation, but in the rush to get the ferry the all important GoPro’s were left at home so no videos!

The racing was clean and close, and after qualifying in 12th overall, that put us on the grid for race 1 in 8th place.  After a good clean battle we finished in 7th place, 10 seconds behind the winner, Ali Garrett who was closely followed by Richard Jenkins and new to Locosts, Danny Andrew.

Race 2 we started from 7th and made progress to finish the race in 5th place, 8 seconds behind race winner Danny Andrew who beat 2nd place Lee Bankhurst and 3rd place Dave Boucher.

Overall, a very successful start to the season, even if no silverware was attained, a good heap of championship points were in the bag.
