After the DNF at Cadwell, we were more determined than ever to achieve a best ever finish and Snetterton was where we planned to do it…..
Entering for the Allcomers Series on the Saturday would see us in two races which should get our eye in for the main event, Round 3 of the Locost Series, the following day. Little was I to know how much fun the Allcomers would be and how close the racing would turn out.
With a grid consisting of everything from MR2’s, to Golf TDI’s and Radicals, it was going to be a busy race for looking in the mirrors.
4 Locosts had entered – Shaun Brame (32), Erne Gushlow (67), Richard Bradley (60) and myself, #74.
Two very close races followed, videos are here:
Results – Race 1 I came 4th in the Handicap with fastest locost lap of 1m 36.03s. Myself Richard and Shaun finished almost equal across the line after an epic battle, just 7/100th of a second separating the 3 of us!
Race 2 saw the same 4th place, but a slightly better lap time of 1m 35.77s.
Sunday saw the Locost race, and we went to qualifying pumped up for a decent lap time. We were one of the first cars out of assembly and quickly got on the pace, doing our best to use a decent tow off other cars to improve times around the fast circuit.

Qualifying 10th overall out of 31 cars with a best lap of 1m 34.84s, we were pretty pleased – best qualifying to date!
It seemed ages to wait until the late afternoon race, but we took in the spectacle of the other race series that were competing, and soon we were called into Assembly and out onto the grid. I hope you enjoy the video below (and its in HD too!

It was a shame that I couldnt maintain 6th, but with the gap up to 5th I was unable to take advantage of any tow, whilst the guys behind worked together to rell me in. We are back at Snetterton at the end of July so I hope that we can improve on the result from May.
